Lukyanovich: Belarus’ air defense destroyed about 20 drones in 2025

Belarusian air defense forces have destroyed 18 fixed-wing drones since the start of the year, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Troops of Belarus Andrei Lukyanovich said on the air of the STV TV channel, BelTA has learned.

"We have recorded 128 violations of the country’s airspace. Our duty forces were engaged in combat operations 23 times and destroyed 18 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," Andrei Lukyanovich stated. 

It was noted that Belarus' air defense system is capable of monitoring the airspace even beyond the country's borders.

It was also emphasized that the number of reconnaissance flights along Belarus’ western borders has significantly increased. On some days, the number of flights from airfields in the Baltic states and Poland rises to 12.
