Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus has talked to reporters and shared some details of the government conference hosted by the head of state on 10 February to discuss the equipment of the Armed Forces and the development of the military-industrial complex, BelTA has learned.

Dmitry Pantus said: “The conference hosted by the president was an intermediate one. The head of state always wonders about every detail of large-scale investment projects concerning the defensive capability. A report was delivered to cover an entire series of areas that are being developed now and the projects that are being implemented now.”

In his words, in the last few years the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus often had to implement projects from scratch starting with the formation of the scientific school. “The two projects we discussed at the conference hosted by the head of state [are being implemented] essentially from scratch. Certainly, some experience is available but essentially from scratch if we consider all the angles,” the official stressed.

The chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus assured that everything possible is being done in order to complete these two projects by the end of the year. He remarked that any project is primarily implemented in the interests of the country’s own Armed Forces and other military units. Nevertheless, export potential is implemented into any kind of weaponry.

Dmitry Pantus added that the geography of export of products made by the military-industrial complex had been slightly expanded and amounted to 65 countries in 2025, seven countries up from 2024. On the whole, the areas of development of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus and the defense sector of the economy are determined by the strategy that runs till 2030.

BelTA reported earlier that participants of the government conference hosted by the Belarus president on 10 February discussed the production of popular ammunitions. The head of state stressed that Belarus needs to have such a manufacturing facility by the end of the year.
