Combat readiness check continues in tank battalion of Belarus’ 19th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade

A combat readiness check of the Armed Forces continues in one of the tank battalions of the 19th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade, Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Andrei Gorbatenko told journalists after presenting an order from the State Secretary of the Security Council to the duty officer at the command post of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, BelTA has learned.

“In accordance with the instruction of the head of state, the State Secretariat of the Security Council is continuing measures to check the combat readiness of individual formations, military units and subunits of the security bloc,” Andrei Gorbatenko said.
He informed those present that today, at the command post of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, he had presented an order from the State Secretary of the Security Council on bringing one of the military units - the tank battalion of the 19th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the North-Western Operational Command - to readiness to carry out its designated tasks at peacetime strength.
The battalion has been tasked with bringing itself to readiness in the shortest possible time, then making a march to the designated area, preparing weapons and military equipment for use, and carrying out fire missions with its organic weapons, tanks and small arms. After that, control exercises in tactical, tactical-special, fire and physical training will be held.
All the results obtained during the check will be analyzed and reported to the head of state. The leadership of the Armed Forces will be aware of them so as to take them into account in the training of formations and military units.
“Starting the next stage of the check, we said that we would be checking how the command and control system of the entire security bloc functions. That is why the procedure for issuing such orders will be different each time,” Andrei Gorbatenko pointed out. “We are checking how the entire command and control system works, how officials are able to take decisions in good time, issue tasks in good time and monitor the fulfilment of the tasks set.”
Last week, the check of an internal troops brigade was completed. At present, an in-depth analysis of the results obtained is under way, and the president will be informed of them.
“An artillery brigade of the Armed Forces is also currently carrying out a set of measures to bring itself to readiness to carry out its designated tasks. The brigade has entered its most active phase,” Andrei Gorbatenko said. “The training of reserve officers has been completed, and since yesterday the call-up of military reservists into the main establishment has been under way. The trained reserve officers are beginning to form subunits and will conduct combat coordination measures in order to ensure, within the established timeframes, the brigade’s readiness to carry out its designated tasks.”
