Buildup of Belarus-Russia regional military force continues

The buildup of the regional military force of Belarus and Russia continues for the sake of ensuring the military security of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

The process is going on stage by stage depending on the evolving situation. Personnel, weapons, military and special hardware of Russia's Armed Forces continue arriving in Belarus. The arriving army units are supposed to go through combat shakedown events in Belarusian military exercise areas later on.
Apart from that, a joint aerial exercise is supposed to take place in order to improve combat training levels of aerial units of the Belarus-Russia regional military force. A unit of the Russian Aerospace Forces will take part in it.
The joint training of the Belarusian component and the Russian component of the regional military force is comprehensive and covers not only combat elements but support systems as well. The Defense Ministry reminded that the decision to create the Belarusian-Russian regional military force in Belarus' territory had been made and is being realized purely for the sake of enhancing the security and defense of the Union State of Belarus and Russia depending on the evolving situation along the border.
