Minsk, Moscow sign MoU on urban governance digitalization

Minsk and Moscow signed a memorandum of understanding in urban governance digitalization on 18 September, the press service of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA.

On 18-21 September, Moscow is hosting Days of Minsk. The first event in the program was a flower-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden. Participating in it were representatives of the Minsk City Executive Committee led by Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev and Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow Sergey Cheremin.

A meeting also took place between Vladimir Kukharev and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. Following the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding focused on digitalization of urban governance. Specifically, the Minsk City Executive Committee and the Moscow Government agreed to strengthen cooperation through experience-sharing in smart city development, joint projects aimed at implementing advanced technologies in Minsk’s digital transformation, and establishing mutually beneficial ties in urban governance digitalization. The parties also plan to promote engagement between business communities and relevant organizations, hold consultations, seminars, conferences, and other joint events in the field.

That same day, a Belarusian product exhibition and fair opened on Tverskaya Square in Moscow. Over the course of four days, visitors will be able to purchase goods from Belarusian food and light industry enterprises, cosmetics, textiles, porcelain, and glassware. Participating brands include well-known producers such as Kommunarka, Minsk Cold Storage Plant No. 2, Krasny Pishchevik, Belita, Vitex, Elema, and Neman Glass Factory, and others.
