Krasnoyarsk keen to strengthen cooperation with Minsk

Krasnoyarsk is looking forward to cooperation with Minsk, placing special emphasis on strengthening friendly ties among young people, Chairwoman of the Krasnoyarsk City Council of Deputies Nataliya Firyulina said during a meeting to sign a cooperation agreement with the Minsk City Council of Deputies, BelTA has learned.

"Krasnoyarsk, with a population of 1.26 million, is eager to cooperate with Minsk. We want the younger generation in both Russia and Belarus to preserve the friendly and trusting relationships that exist between our countries, and we will actively support this," Nataliya Firyulina stated.
She outlined key areas of cooperation, including cultural exchanges, youth parliament activities, and exchange of experiences in municipal management. "I greatly enjoyed exploring the historical buildings of Minsk. It is a stunning, well-kept city. We have much to aspire to, and we look forward to long-term cooperation," she added.
When asked about the prospects for cooperation, Nataliya Firyulina emphasized strong potential for this: "It is primarily based on economic relations. Krasnoyarsk Territory is a resource-rich region, and we have a great need for Belarusian products such as BelAZ and MAZ vehicles. The mining industry is the backbone of our economy. We have also grown accustomed to Belarusian food products, which is also very important."
She also expressed interest in exchanging experiences in working with local communities. "I want to discuss how we can improve the lives of our citizens. Local authorities are closest to the people, and your experience is extremely valuable to us," Nataliya Firyulina concluded.
