Belarus' Gomel Oblast, Russia's Bryansk Oblast to discuss cooperation

A delegation of Belarus' Gomel Oblast will visit Bryansk Oblast of Russia on 14 April. The parties are set to discuss the ways to further cooperation in construction, agriculture, engineering and other areas, spokeswoman for the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Olga Ryabikova told BelTA.

The Gomel delegation will be headed by Gomel Oblast Governor Gennady Solovey. He is scheduled to meet with Bryansk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz to talk about the further development of inter-regional ties. Representatives of construction companies, Gomselmash mechanical engineering company will join the discussion.

Cooperation in mechanical engineering, including in the agricultural industry, will take center stage during visits to the the Novozybkov Machine-Building Plant and Bryanskselmash mechanical engineering company.

Prospects for participation of Belarusian companies in the construction projects in Bryansk Oblast will be considered during on-site meeting at the construction facilities: "Building a road - a protective dam Bryansk 1 - Bryansk 2 (first phase)”, “Secondary School No.71", “the Martial Arts Center in Sovietsky District of Bryansk”.

The spokeswoman said that tThe two frontier regions have been maintaining friendly relations for many years and are good partners. “In terms of trade and economic relations, Gomel's major exports to Bryansk Oblast are harvesters, dairy products, wallpaper, paper wall coverings and others. Major imports are waste and scrap of ferrous metals, corn, portland cement, tires, batteries, iron rods, equipment and parts of mechanical devices," added Olga Ryabikova.
