Union innovations are to be presented at the Belarusian Space Congress scheduled for October 27th-29th. It is planned to welcome experts from all over the world, said Director of A.V. Luikov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute Oleg Penyazkov, reports the correspondent of the Union State portal.

United Institute of Informatics Problems of the NAS of Belarus and A.V. Luikov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute of the NAS of Belarus will become the venues for the Belarusian Space Congress. The latter will also organize an exhibition of innovations developed within the framework of the Union State space programmes.

“A space congress is going to take place here at end of the year. Within the framework of this congress, we are going to organize a special exhibition in our lobby on the ground floor. There our visitors can see cut and dried materials, products, and innovations developed as part of the current Technology-SG programme. Everything can be studied and examined,” Oleg Penyazkov noted.

He added that this year is the final one for the Technology-SG programme. It has been designed for five years. The two countries’ scientists have been carrying out 26 projects involving about twenty Russian and Belarusian scientific organizations and institutes. Over this period 1.937 billion Russian rubles was allocated for the programme from the Union State budget.

It is planned that the programme will result in innovative developments that can be used in small spacecraft. The main objective of the Union programme is to reduce the mass and size of Earth remote sensing satellites. As part of the project, an application was filed in order to patent a unique invention for space purposes in Belarus and Russia.

Oleg Penyazkov said that upon completion of Technology-SG, it was planned to launch a new programme that would also be associated with space technology. A possible name is “Resource-SG”, and it is designed for 5 years (2022-2026).
