The III International Scientific Congress of Belarusian Culture is being held at the Research Center of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, BelTA reports.

The Third International Scientific Congress of Belarusian Culture brought together leading experts from Belarus, Russia and Turkmenistan to discuss topical issues of culture and art. The focus is on architecture and design, fine and decorative arts, cinema and video art, music, theater, national culture and language, literature, culture of regions, culture of national communities, historical and cultural heritage, museums, nature reserves and traditional culture.

The Congress is taking place in a landmark year for Belarus: the 80th anniversary of liberation from Nazi invaders, the 30th anniversary of the Institute of the Presidency. In this regard, the issues of historical memory, national unity, preservation of national cultures and linguistic diversity have become especially relevant.

According to Academician Alexander Lokotko, Director of the Research Center of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the congress program includes reports from more than 175 participants. In addition to the plenary session, six sections are planned in various areas. Following the results of the congress, a collection of works will be published, and a resolution will be prepared with proposals for the development of state policy in the field of culture in the near future.
