Aleksei Anokhin, head of the international sales division at OOO Rusatom Additive Technologies, talked to reporters on the sidelines of the 27th Belarusian energy and ecology forum Energy Expo to reveal what projects in the sphere of additive technologies Belarus and Russia are developing, BelTA has learned.

OOO Rusatom Additive Technologies (RusAT) is the integrator of the Russian state nuclear industry corporation Rosatom in the field of additive technologies. The main products the company makes are 3D printers and their parts, materials for additive technologies. The company also takes care of setting up publicly accessible centers for additive technologies, developing its own software for printers and printing processes.

Additive technologies are used practically in all the main branches of any economy, including power engineering, Aleksei Anokhin noted. “Every industry uses additive technologies and the appropriate equipment, which allow printing various parts and products. It is worth noting that additive technologies are not a substitute of conventional technologies. The former complement the latter's manufacturing processes. If [additive technologies are] incorporated correctly into a manufacturing and technological process, the enterprises can save money and reduce manufacturing time,” the executive remarked.

Speaking about Belarus-Russia cooperation in this field, the executive noted that OAO Belenergoremnaladka and the Belarusian national energy company Belenergo actively cooperate with Rosatom's integrator in several areas. “Some parts have already been printed: an impeller wheel, a pressure pipe, and so on. Multiple orders are in the pipeline and we are expanding this kind of interaction. Belenergoremnaladka is working with Belenergo to analyze the parts, which can be 3D printed, including as part of import substitution efforts, reverse engineering, and the rest. These enterprises now are some of the key partners for creating a joint center for additive technologies in Belarus,” Aleksei Anokhin mentioned.

The Belarusian energy and ecology forum Energy Expo is one of the largest specialized exhibition events. It is organized every year with a view to developing the innovation potential of the fuel and energy complex. The forum brings together industry-specific organizations and leading producers of equipment and technologies for power engineering industry and allied trades. This year they traditionally present innovative projects and cutting-edge solutions for electric energy industry, gas industry, energy- and resource-saving technologies, digital development, and ecology.
