Rosaviatsia provides update on Osvey aircraft certification

An application to certify the Osvey aircraft has been submitted, BelTA reports citing the website of Russia’s Federal Agency for Air Transport (Rosaviatsiya).

The certification status of three promising aircraft, including the Osvey aircraft, was reviewed at the Coordination Center of the Russian Government. The discussion was held during the 13th meeting of the aircraft certification headquarters under the Civil Aviation special project.

Andrei Dorofeyev, Director for Quality and Certification at Ural Civil Aviation Factory (UZGA), confirmed that the application for the LMS-192 Osvey – a light multirole twin-engine aircraft powered by VK-800 engines – has been submitted. The mock-up review has been successfully passed. UZGA specialists have addressed the issues raised and reviewed the recommendations. The reporting documentation will be sent to the Federal Agency for Air Transport and Russia’s Aviation Register.

Andrei Dorofeyev also noted that the aircraft’s type certificate is scheduled to be issued in 2029.
