From space to baby food — Glazyev spoke about union programms and projects

According to Sergey Glazyev, Belarus and Russia are currently implementing 26 industrial cooperation projects. Russia has allocated more than 100 billion rubles for the production of goods and components in demand on the general market. In addition, regular work is underway in the industry to coordinate the list of products manufactured taking into account government support programs.

Also, according to the State Secretary of the Union State, significant changes have taken place in the field of consumer protection. A plan for scientific and technical cooperation has been developed and adopted. Among the priority vectors is a program in the field of photonics, which will make it possible to obtain high-quality image enhancement based on new materials, including materials from space. New types of electronic components for cars are being produced to make them more stable and reliable.

Following the discussion at the upcoming meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, instructions will be given on the formation of tasks for 2027-2029.

"We want to introduce a number of tools and mechanisms to support investment activity to expand our production cooperation, to stimulate investment, and to introduce new technologies," said the State Secretary of the Union State. "Our scientific and technical projects need to be scaled further. The concept of "goods of the Union State" will be a very important help here," emphasized Sergey Glazyev. Among the proposals is the creation of an investment platform for producers of "union goods" with long-term targeted credit lines with low interest rates, which will be used to expand specific industries.

"Therefore, we will enable these Union State goods to fill our market and expand beyond its borders," said Sergey Glazyev. He said that in the near future, four groups of goods of the Union State will be worked out, including in the field of electronic industry, machine tools, where Belarus has preserved a good scientific and technical potential, and the production of machinery, including agricultural machinery.

Another area of collaboration is robotics. In particular, such programs in agriculture are planned.

Among the issues submitted to the Supreme State Council of the Union State is the adoption of a Decree on a model for organizing interregional cross-border commuter transport.  Two pilot projects have already been approved - high-speed electric trains from Smolensk to Vitebsk and from Orsha to Smolensk. In addition, work is underway on the reconstruction and modernization of railway communications, including along the Belarus-Baltic corridor, and prospects for access to the Northern Sea Route are being discussed.

"A memorandum on the construction of the Minsk-Moscow high-speed highway may also be signed on the sidelines of the Supreme Council," Sergey Glazyev said, adding that the project is being worked out.

The State Secretary of the Union State also spoke about the joint programs and projects that have already been implemented during the existence of the Union State.

"Over the past 25 years, about 60 programs and projects of the Union State have been implemented. The total amount is about 70 billion Russian rubles," said Sergey Glazyev. The range of cooperation between Belarus and Russia in this field is wide - from the production of satellites and automotive components to baby food, it covers such highly scientific industries as photonics and electronics, cellular medicine and bioengineering technologies, DNA identification, etc.
