BelAZ to supply two 130-tonne haul trucks to Russian Apatit

wo 130-tonne haul trucks BelAZ-75131 have been delivered to the Vostochny mine of the Kirovsk branch of AO Apatit (PhosAgro Group, Russian Federation), BelAZ's press service told BelTA.

Six 180-tonne trucks and 16 130-tonne trucks made by BelAZ are already used at the mine. The new vehicles are part of a large investment project meant to increase the resource base of the long-time strategic partner of the Belarusian company in the Kola Peninsula. BelAZ and the Kirovsk branch of AO Apatit signed a cooperation agreement in 2019, which provides for selling at least 50 haul trucks to the Russian company over the course of three years.

The new BelAZ trucks boast bright LED lights and surround-view cameras to allow the driver to safely maneuver around obstacles. Russian specialists also mentioned quality electronics, soft driver seats, and equipment for more comfortable work among the advantages of the Belarusian vehicles.

The Kirovsk branch of AO Apatit is the world's largest producer of high-quality phosphate raw materials. The company has been using BelAZ trucks since the 1960s when apatite-nephelinic deposits were discovered in the area.

BelAZ is the world's leading manufacturer of haul trucks and transport equipment for mining industry and civil engineering industry. BelAZ accounts for some 30% of the world market of haul trucks with an extremely large carrying capacity. The company makes the world's largest haul truck with the carrying capacity of 450 tonnes.
