Belarus, Russia designing high-speed railway line between Moscow, Minsk

Belarus and Russia are busy working on a project to build a high-speed railway line between Moscow and Minsk. The news was released by Deputy Director General of Russian Railways Oleg Toni, BelTA has learned.

Oleg Toni said: “The Russian part of the line has been added to the land-use planning scheme. We are now working with Belarusian colleagues to determine what we will do next to work out the project.”

In August President of Russia Vladimir Putin mentioned plans to consider the construction of the high-speed railway line with the Belarusian government. He remarked that travelling to and from Minsk would be extremely popular among residents of Belarus and Russia.
