The election campaign in Belarus is organized at a very good level, said Leonid Anfimov, head of the CIS observation mission headquarters at Belarus’ presidential election, BelTA has learned.

“The information we receive suggests that the election campaign is organized at a very high level, in accordance with the effective legislation. The main task of the mission is to assess compliance of the electoral process with the legislation, including during the campaigning stage. We see that the level of preparation and conduct of the election process meets all international norms and standards for democratic elections,” Leonid Anfimov noted.

The CIS observation mission started working in Belarus on 18 December. This is the 13th mission to observe elections and referendums in Belarus and the 130th mission to work in the territory of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The CIS observation mission strictly abides by Belarusian laws, respects the sovereignty of the state, and objectively evaluates the preparation and conduct of the election.

Belarus’ presidential election is scheduled for 26 January 2025.
