The National Center for Intellectual Property (NCIP) of Belarus and the Administration of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone have signed an agreement to establish a technology and innovation support center in the park. The document was signed by NCIP Director General Vladimir Ryabovolov and Head of the Administration Aleksandr Yaroshenko, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus.

“The new facility will help researchers find information about existing scientific achievements and will stimulate scientific activities of young researchers and startups. All employees of the park's resident companies will get free access to patent and non-patent databases of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the NCIP, and other relevant resources,” the press service noted. Moreover, the center will also provide assistance in searching for necessary materials and organize training events on the use of databases.

The international project to create a network of technology and innovation support centers was launched by WIPO in 2009. It is aimed at helping countries and regions exploit their intellectual capacity by providing information, scientific, and methodological support for users of the centers in research, scientific, technical, and innovative activities. So far, there are eight such centers in Belarus: at the National Scientific and Technical Library and each of its regional branches, at the NCIP, and at Belarusian State University.
