Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Igor Petrishenko took part in an extraordinary meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), BelTA learned from the press service of the government.

“The meeting considered seven issues in the field of technical and tariff regulation, rules for determining the origin of goods, quotas, etc. Thus, a decision was made “On amendments to the rules for determining the origin of goods imported into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (non-preferential rules for determining the origin of goods)”. The decision of the EEC Council provides for a simplified procedure for confirming the origin of goods, namely, a complete transition to copies of certificates of origin of imported goods if their consignment does not exceed €1,500,” the press service said.

In order to maintain smooth production of wheeled vehicles, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission passed a decision “On Amendments to Decision No. 877 of the Commission of the Customs Union as of 9 December 2011” that establishes a temporary procedure for putting wheeled vehicles into circulation and assessing the conformity of these products with national requirements.

In addition to that, in order to boost the stability of the economies of the EAEU member states, a decision was made to zero-rate import duties on 917 commodity items (including machinery and equipment, fruit and nuts, electrical machinery and equipment, ferrous metal products, etc.),” the press service added.
