Over 40 Belarusian mechanical engineering and light industry enterprises have already been granted full access to government procurement procedures in Russia. They are included into the Eurasian registry of industrial goods, BelTA learned from the TV channel Belarus One.

Only enterprises with a high share of Russian parts in their products could participate in municipal tenders in Russia last year.

Since August 2020 the Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry has been forming rules of access to large orders and the registry. The localization rate has been expanded to the five Eurasian Economic Union member states now. Thus, the countries have strengthened the economic advantages of working in the common space.

As many as 28 Belarusian enterprises were certified for access to government procurement contracts in 2020. Another 19 have been granted access this year.

As many as 255 product types from about ten industries are supposed to be included into the Eurasian registry of industrial goods. Those are special machine building industry, automobile engineering industry, and light industry. “Most of the large Belarusian industrial enterprises have already been included into the registry,” noted Natalya Gurinovich, Head of the Government Procurement Office of the Belarusian Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry. “I am talking about guaranteed contracts and payments at the expense of the state budget. By participating in these tenders, the enterprises can count on guaranteed profits and large volumes of orders.”

Various models of vehicles and machines made by MTZ, MAZ, and Amkodor are already in the registry.

According to Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich, it is an important matter for small enterprises as well. “Government procurement contracts cover a lot of things starting with paper clips and ending with the construction of stadiums. This is why it is very important. Another thing you should pay attention to: if you participate in government procurement contracts, it means you make quality products, you don't have to spend extra on advertising and promotion,” he remarked.

Applications for inclusion into the registry are open. The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry pays close attention to every application.
