Lukashenko explains reasons for support of agricultural enterprises in Belarus

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko explained the reasons for the support of agricultural enterprises and cooperatives in Belarus. The matter is that they also perform additional social functions, the head of state said during the visit to OAO Tikhnichi in Rogachev District, BelTA informs.

The head of state asked about the state of affairs in the agricultural industry in Rogachev District, the progress in the development of agricultural organizations in general and of OAO Tikhnichi in particular.
The merger of OAO Tikhnichi and another large enterprise is currently under consideration. Plans have been made to build a new dairy farm, to increase the milking herd. According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, this should be a well-considered step, and the enterprise should not be overloaded. Senior executives of OAO Tikhnichi are also in favor of this merger. In their opinion, it will give a boost to the development of the enterprise. “If the director is in favor of it, we must support their idea,” the president said.
The head of state also mentioned the social aspect. Many villages are in the zone of work of such big enterprises. “Therefore, I do not ruin agricultural enterprises and cooperatives,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
He explained that some farmers want to take a land plot without additional social responsibilities. “We support agriculture [agricultural enterprises] because they take care of villages,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. First of all, this pertains to the maintenance of order, beautification, support of farmers.
