The largest technical support center of the Belarusian heavy truck manufacturer BelAZ (the sixth one in Russia) has been opened in the Belovo urban district, Kemerovo Oblast, Russia, the company's press service told BelTA.

Kuzbass Industry Minister Leonid Starosvet, Belarusian Industry Minister Piotr Parkhomchik, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko took part in the opening ceremony.

Piotr Parkhomchik said that the technical support center had gathered all the competences in the area of technical support, maintenance, and repairs of BelAZ mining vehicles, which will be realized in line with documents and blueprints developed by the Belarusian company. It will guarantee exceedingly high quality of all kinds of repairs.

BelAZ's official representative in the region – BelAZ-24 Company – started building the center in 2018. In terms of the size and equipment the center is the largest one in BelAZ's aftersales service chain. Apart from that, the project was part of the federal program on developing single-industry cities in Russia.

The center occupies about 15,000m2 and comprises three buildings dedicated to administration, logistics, and production. A new road has been built to the center in order to reduce the wear and tear on public roads.

The center boasts a full set of cutting-edge specialized equipment for repairing and maintenance of Belarusian haul trucks with the carrying capacity of 30-450 tonnes, for repairing hydraulic systems and electric drives. The logistics building occupies over 3,000m2 and stores a broad choice of components for BelAZ trucks. The parts are stored in optimal air temperature, humidity, and ventilation conditions. The company is intent on performing all kinds of repairs of BelAZ vehicles as fast as possible in addition to making interaction with customers as comfortable as possible.

The administrative wing occupies over 4,000m2 and comprises offices for engineers and technicians, a chemical lab as well as auxiliary infrastructure (a canteen, a first aid station, a security station). The administrative wing also has classrooms where specialists will be trained, where career enhancement courses will be offered, where students of local educational institutions will be offered practical classes.

BelAZ's technical support center will be one of the largest employers and taxpayers of the city of Belovo. It will create 278 jobs for residents of the region. Tax revenues are expected to exceed RUB750 million by 2028. Specialists believe the center will be able to reach its designed output capacity in 2022.

The technical support center is conveniently located near Kemerovo Oblast's key motorway that connects the two largest cities in the region – Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk. The location makes it convenient for customers that use BelAZ mining vehicles.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) BelAZ is the managing company of the holding company BelAZ. BelAZ is the world's leading manufacturer of haul trucks and transport equipment for mining industry and civil engineering industry. BelAZ accounts for some 30% of the world market of haul trucks with an extremely large carrying capacity. The company makes the world's largest haul truck with the carrying capacity of 450 tonnes.
