The Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ intends to sell about 16,000 tractors to Russia this year, BelTA learned from MTZ Director General Vitaly Vovk.

Vitaly Vovk said: “We would like to have a Russian market share of about 70%. It is over 60% at present. We would like to be represented not only in agriculture but also in utilities industry, forestry industry. We are increasing our presence right now. I am convinced we will reach at least 16,000 tractors by the end of the year. The holding company is supposed to make over 50,000 tractor vehicles this year. As many as 24,000 ones were already made in H1 2022.”

According to Vitaly Vovk, MTZ is an export-oriented enterprise and used to ship its products to 120 countries across the globe. “New technical solutions, components, the availability of proprietary service are in demand today. Participation in MTZ's shipments beyond borders of the Union State of Belarus and Russia is beneficial for everyone because one MTZ job provides about six jobs at Russian enterprises. It is a very good locomotive for advancing our labor relations and manufacturing cooperation ties,” he noted.

Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) was established on 29 May 1946. It was reincorporated into a holding company in August 2014. MTZ is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machines not only in the CIS states but the entire world. MTZ employs over 16,000 people. Customers are offered over 100 tractor models in more than 200 modifications for all climatic and operational conditions. New models boast great capabilities with regard to the aggregation of agricultural machines of various manufacturers. The public joint-stock company (OAO) MTZ designs, makes, and exports wheel tractors and spare parts, licenses their production abroad, organizes and offers aftersales service for sold vehicles, and offers personnel training with regard to operation and maintenance of the vehicles the company makes.
