Belarusian Energy Ministry to continue cooperation with Russia in nuclear energy, nuclear medicine

The Belarusian Energy Ministry has received a package of proposals from Russian partners regarding cooperation in the sphere of power engineering, nuclear medicine, and other areas. Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk made the statement at a solemn event held in the Palace of the Republic on 2 April to celebrate the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.

The official noted that they had recently received a package of proposals from Russian organizations. Among other things the package mentions science, interaction with the Belarusian energy and nuclear research institute Sosny, and cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The package also contains proposals concerning nuclear medicine and the operation of the nuclear power plant from various Russian organizations.
Proposals in the area of peaceful uses of nuclear energy are not limited to the operation of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. They go as far as the joint implementation of projects abroad.
The Belarusian side will have to sum up the proposals together with interested parties and prepare an action program.
A solemn assembly dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia took place in the Palace of the Republic in Minsk on 2 April. Heads of central government agencies, top officials of the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and its representative office in Minsk, representatives of public associations, and other people took part in the event. Studios in Moscow also took part in the event via the Internet.
