Belarus gets $500m as second tranche of Russian loan

Belarus has received the second tranche of the Russian loan as large as $500 million, representatives of the Belarusian Finance Ministry told BelTA.

In line with the Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement the equivalent of $0.5 billion was transferred to the account of the Finance Ministry on 2 June as the second tranche of the state financial loan.

BelTA reported earlier that the agreement on Russia lending $1 billion to Belarus was signed on 21 December 2020. The Finance Ministry received the first $500 million tranche on 30 December.
