Belarus' Development Bank to use alternative systems after disconnection from SWIFT

The Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (DBRB) has released a statement in response to the European Union's decision to disconnect the Belarusian bank from the international interbank messaging and payment system SWIFT, BelTA has learned.

The European Union has decided to disconnect the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus from the SWIFT system as from 20 March as a temporary restriction. The Development Bank has taken measures to start using alternative systems for transmitting financial data in order to honor commitments concerning transactions with legal persons in all currencies in a timely manner, the bank's representatives said.
