Belarus attends cross-border e-commerce conference in Guangzhou

Belarus' Consulate General in Guangzhou took part in the events of the international 2020 World Cross-Border E-Commerce Conference on 19 November, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Consulate General in Guangzhou.

Speaking at the opening ceremony were Vladimir Norov, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Yi Xiaozhun, Deputy Director General of the World Trade Organization (via video link), Lin Daoping, Vice Mayor of Guangzhou, and a number of former high-ranking officials and representatives of China's banking and academic sectors.

The consul general of Belarus took part in the round table discussion, where he outlined approaches that could contribute to the greater involvement of enterprises representing relatively small economies, such as Belarus, in the international cross-border e-commerce system. He outlined the key problems that small and medium-sized enterprises face in entering the Chinese e-commerce market.
