Minsk declared Belarus’ youth capital for 2026

Minsk has been declared the youth capital of Belarus for 2026, Viktoria Zakharevskaya, Head of the National Youth Center, told BelTA.

In Belarus, the status of the youth capital is awarded annually, with the competition typically announced at the end of the year. Based on online voting and the assessment of a commission, Minsk has received the title this year.
"This status is not just an honor. It marks an entire year of opportunities. It gives the city a chance to showcase its modern youth culture and share best practices in developing the social, economic, and civic engagement of young people. This year, the capital continues a proud tradition. Since 2016, the title of youth capital has been held in turn by Baranovichi, Polotsk, Mogilev, Orsha, Pinsk, Grodno, Vitebsk, Novopolotsk, Brest, and Gomel," Viktoria Zakharevskaya said.
Work is currently underway to finalize the program of activities that will take place in the country’s youth capital in 2026.
