Union State MPs to discuss common education standards for Belarus, Russia

The meeting of the permanent seminar of the Belarus-Russia Union State Parliamentary Assembly on the Union State development will take place on 19 November. The meeting will be themed “The integration of general education systems of Belarus and Russia as the basis for the development of the Union State common education space”, BelTA learned from the PA press service.

“Participants are to discuss the development of a common educational space of the Union State, common education standards in Belarus and Russia, the implementation of innovative educational projects of the Union State. The seminar final document will include practical recommendations. The document will be submitted to ministries and departments of the two states, other stakeholders,” the press service said.

Attending the event will be members of the Parliamentary Assembly, representatives of the Union State Standing Committee, the Education Ministry of Belarus, the Education Ministry of Russia, educational institutions of the two countries.

The PA permanent seminar on the Union State development was established on the initiative of the Union State MPs in 2006. The seminar brings together representatives of the scientific community, supporters of Belarus-Russia integration and like-minded people. “The format of the event allows for a detailed consideration of topical issues related to the cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the Union State. The high professional level of the seminar participants enables them to work out solutions for further development of Belarusian-Russian relations,” the press service added.
