Turchin sent greetings to the participants of the first Union gathering of senior citizens

"On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Belarus, I welcome the participants and guests of the first Union gathering of senior citizens. We are sincerely glad that the new union project is being launched on the hospitable Belarusian soil. This event clearly demonstrates the unity of priorities of Belarus and Russia regarding older people and the approaches to creating conditions for their high‑quality and fulfilling lives. In the traditions of our peoples, respect for elders has always been the guarantee of a healthy and strong society," the greeting states.

The Prime Minister noted that thanks to the implementation of national strategies for active longevity, the role of the older generation in mentoring, volunteering, and working with young people is growing. Their contribution to the country’s economy is increasing, and the quality of life is improving thanks to the development of leisure and recreation. Institutions involved in physical culture and sports, education, and culture are tailoring their services to meet the needs of older people, and social services and healthcare systems are being developed.

"The Union gathering is a tribute to the deep respect we have for the people who, through their work, wisdom, and life experience, laid the foundation for our common well‑being. You are the golden fund of our society, an example of resilience, energy, and dedication to your cause. We sincerely admire your active life stance - your desire to keep learning, creating, engaging in public activities, and inspiring young people," Alexander Turchin emphasized.

He expressed confidence that the gathering would become a fruitful platform for discussing best practices and innovations and would create a significant foundation for the development of joint projects within the Union State. "But the most important result is the team‑oriented festive atmosphere and the friendly connections you will forge. I wish all participants of the gathering inexhaustible energy and vivid impressions not only from working together but also from the hospitable Vitebsk land. I wish you strong health and active longevity!" the Prime Minister concluded.
