The youth forum of the Union State "The Role of Youth in preserving and protecting historical Memory" will begin its work in Mogilev today

Members of the Parliamentary Assembly, members of the Youth Chamber of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, youth chambers of the Parliaments of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, young historians, as well as representatives of youth organizations and the scientific community of the two countries will take part in the forum events. Sergey Glazyev, State Secretary of the Union State, is planning to take part in the plenary session of the forum.

The Union State Youth Forum is held in order to strengthen friendship between the youth of Belarus and Russia. Its main tasks are to foster patriotism, preserve common historical memory and discuss the implementation of a joint youth policy. The idea of the forum is to build a dialogue with active youth in order to develop coordinated approaches in patriotic education, harmonize legislation and develop a strategy for the development of youth policy in the Union State.

The forum program includes a plenary session and three thematic sections: "The historical legacy of Victory in the Great Patriotic War as the most important factor in the patriotic education of youth"; "The contribution of the peoples of the Soviet Union to Victory in the Great Patriotic War"; "Youth policy of the Union State: from model to practice".

The forum will include the XVIII festival "Youth for the Union State", an exhibition and a master class "Folk art crafts as the most important element of preserving national identity", meetings of young people with famous political and public figures.

In addition, a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly's Commission for the Preservation and Protection of Historical Memory and a meeting of the Youth Chamber at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia will be held during the forum.
