The State Duma of the Russian Federation ratified an agreement with Belarus on information exchange in the sphere of financial market supervision

The deputies of the Russian State Duma have ratified the Belarusian-Russian agreement on cooperation and exchange of information, including confidential information, in the sphere of supervision and (or) control over the financial market, reports BelTA.

The agreement was concluded by the governments and the main financial institutions of the two countries - the National Bank of Belarus and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. The document was developed in pursuance of the Union State's programme to harmonise the regulation of credit and non-credit financial institutions, as well as the financial market as a whole, including the creation of unified principles of deposit insurance.

The agreement was concluded to strengthen the reliability and stability of the financial markets of Belarus and Russia.
