On September 23, the Standing Committee of the Union State held a meeting on current issues of Union State development in Moscow, with the Minsk Representative Office of the Standing Committee of the Union State participating via videoconference. Participants discussed a number of pressing issues, including the preparation of materials by the Standing Committee of the Union State for upcoming meetings of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, the Council of Ministers of the Union State, and the High-Level Group.

Another topic of discussion was the Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Visas between Russia and Belarus, which is still not fully operational. The Belarusian side added this issue to the agenda after Russia reported technical issues related to the recognition of visas for foreigners with temporary residence permits (TRPs) and e-visas.

During a working meeting of the Standing Committee of the Union State, participants reviewed the progress of work on creating a logo for labelling Union State goods. A separate meeting with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus is planned to further advance this issue.

Particular attention was paid to the organization of citizen receptions at the meeting. As Anatoly Markevich, Head of the Permanent Committee of the Union State's Minsk Office, noted, receptions are held regularly—every last Wednesday of the month, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM—and include both in-person meetings and a direct telephone line. Appointments are published in advance on the official website, allowing for the early processing of incoming questions.

It was emphasized that citizens who approach outside the scheduled hours are also not ignored—their questions are received and addressed as usual. Typical requests cover a wide range of topics, including education, social issues, and other aspects requiring interagency cooperation between Russian and Belarusian government agencies.

The meeting allowed for the coordination of further actions in key areas of the Standing Committee's activities in anticipation of important intergovernmental events.
