The Representative Office of of the Standing Committee of Union State in Minsk discussed the upcoming union events in Belarus

On September 2, a working meeting was held at the Representative Office of the Union State Standing Committee in Minsk, where preparations for the upcoming events to be held in Belarus this month were discussed.

On September 4, the Day of the Union State will be held at the Zhemchuzhina Children's Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in the Lepel area, Vitebsk region. Since 2002, children from Belarus and Russia living in the areas most affected by the Chernobyl disaster have been undergoing wellness procedures at the Zhemchuzhina Recreation Center at the expense of the Union budget. An employee of the Representative Office will take part in the Day of the Union State in Zhemchuzhina and will deliver a welcome speech from the State Secretary of the Union State Sergey Glazyev.
The participants of the meeting also reviewed the preparations for the Day of Belarusian Writing, which will be held on September 6-7 in Lida, Grodno region. As part of the Writing Day, a presentation of the publishing and educational project "Library of the Union State" will take place in the pavilion of the National Library of Belarus. As previously reported, by the end of the year, the NLB will open a branch of the Library of the Union State, which will feature books of the same name, union periodicals and methodological materials.
Another issue on the agenda of the meeting is the upcoming Belarusian–Russian Forum "Youth for the Union State", which will be held in Mogilev on September 4-8. The Forum is an annual event aimed at uniting youth and the cultural space within the Union State. UN Secretary of State Sergey Glazyev plans to take part in the plenary part of the forum.
The Representative Office of the Union State Standing Committee in Minsk is also monitoring the implementation of the Union State projects "Major repairs, restoration, reconstruction, and museumification of the Brest Fortress structures in the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex" and "Creation of a museum exposition on the territory of the Buinichi Field Memorial Complex."
