The Parliamentary Assembly will hold the XIX festival «Youth for the Union State» and a Youth Forum in Mogilev

The festival «Youth for the Union State» will bring together more than 300 participants and representatives of youth organizations from Belarus and Russia. The program includes a youth song performers' competition, a choreographic ensembles' competition, gala opening and closing concerts featuring popular artists from both countries, master classes by jury members, creative laboratories, and excursions to historical sites.

The participants of the Youth Forum of the Union State «Memory. Choice. Responsibility» will number 70 people — 35 representatives each from Belarus and Russia: students, young teachers of history and social disciplines, master's students and postgraduate students from all regions of the two countries. Representatives of the youth of the Mogilev region will join them as participants in the discussion. Three thematic sections will operate at the forum:

«Axiology of Victory: the value code of the generation of victors and its transmission in the 21st century»;
«Questions of history: perception of the past as a resource for strategies of the present and aspirations for the future»;
«Sovereign development in the era of hybrid challenges: consolidation of meanings».

Preparation for holding the festival and forum has reached the home stretch. At the off-site meeting of the organizing committee held on September 29 in Mogilev under the chairmanship of the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vadim Ipatov, the program was discussed, the main venues for the events were inspected, and the composition of the jury of the creative competitions was approved.

«Back last year the format of the festival was changed. A very important element was introduced at a higher level — the historical and patriotic part. And this gave the festival a completely different perspective», noted Vadim Ipatov. According to him, this year three sections will operate at the forum, where participants will discuss a wide range of issues: the genetic code, the foundations of our states that allow us to move forward, overcoming all threats and challenges.

«The goal is one — first of all, the younger generation must appreciate what has been achieved by previous generations and continue these glorious traditions», emphasized the parliamentarian.

The ceremonial closing ceremony of the festival and the final gala concert will take place at the venue of the regional holiday of agricultural workers «Dazhynki» in Shklov. «It is impossible to bypass such an important harvest holiday in Belarus. And here a very interesting symbiosis of creativity and labor takes place», said Vadim Ipatov.

Participants of the forum and festival will traditionally meet with deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly, members of the Youth Chamber under the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, and leaders of youth organizations and movements.

The festival is held by the Parliamentary Assembly for the purpose of educating and civic formation of the youth of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, preserving and developing cultural potential, promoting the realization of creative abilities and harmonious development of the individual, identifying and supporting gifted creative youth of our countries.

The Youth Forum of the Union State is held for the purpose of strengthening friendship between the youth of Belarus and Russia. Its main tasks are fostering patriotism, preserving common historical memory, and discussing issues of implementing joint youth policy. The idea of the forum is to build a dialogue with active youth to develop coordinated approaches in patriotic education, harmonization of legislation, and the development of the Strategy for the Development of Youth Policy of the Union State.
