The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment discussed the Union State environmental project on neutralisation of pesticide-contaminated environment

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus under the chairmanship of the head of the agency Sergey Maslyak. The event was attended by Grigory Rapota, Advisor to the Director General of Rosatom State Corporation, Vladimir Zhevnyak, Deputy Head of the Representation of the Permanent Committee of the Union State in Minsk, and Lyudmila Plyushch, representative of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise ‘Federal Environmental Operator’ - a specialised organisation dealing with waste of various types and hazard classes.

The topic of the meeting participants' discussion was the Union State project on ‘Development of a comprehensive solution for environmental protection from pollution by unusable pesticides, including the creation of neutralisation technology and a pilot plant with testing at the liquidation of the Gorodok dump’.

As previously reported, this initiative was announced in August 2024 in Moscow, during the visit of the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Belarus and his visit and meeting with the leadership of the State Corporation ‘Rosatom’.
