Russia interested in developing scientific cooperation with Belarus

Russia is interested in developing scientific cooperation with Belarus in a wide range of areas, including nuclear technologies, space and forestry, Andrei Malakhov, First Secretary-Attache for Science and Higher Education at the Russian Embassy in Belarus, told the media on the margins of the exhibition of achievements in science, technology and innovation of Belarus at the National Academy of Sciences.

“Russia is very interested in developing cooperation with Belarus in science and education. Cooperation is carried out both as a whole between the academies of sciences and between individual scientific organizations, for example the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna. Belarus is a full member of this international organization and takes an active part in its R&D. Our cooperation in space also has great prospects,” Andrei Malakhov said.

Other topical areas include agriculture and forestry. “I had a chance to visit the Belarusian State Technological University, to get acquainted with the training programs and scientific developments. In my opinion, we have a lot to learn from the Belarusians. This is a mutual process, we can learn a lot from each other,” he noted.

The NASB exhibition features over 300 Belarusian developments across several clusters: Medicine and Pharmaceutics; Industry 4.0. Microelectronics. Artificial Intelligence; Ecology. Biotechnology; Smart Agriculture; Social and Humanitarian Development; National Security. The main purpose of this exhibition is to demonstrate the results of research and developments of Belarusian science, state innovation programs and efforts to strengthen ties between science and production.
