Over 100 Museum Heads from Belarus and Russia to Participate in the United Cultures Forum in St. Petersburg

On September 24, as part of the 12th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum, a special session will be held for museum leaders belonging to the Association of Historical and Military-Historical Museums and the "Territory of Victory" international project. The event will bring together more than 100 museum heads from Belarus and Russia. The Victory Museum is organizing the event, according to the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia.

The session will feature discussions on the role and potential of military-historical museums in patriotic education, new formats for audience engagement, and the implementation of large-scale, socially significant projects aimed at promoting spiritual and moral values ​​and instilling the right guiding principles in younger generations.

The program will open with a session titled "Historical and Military-Historical Museums: Historical Truth, the Connection Between Generations, and Responsibility for the Future," moderated by Irina Velikanova, Director of the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia. Speakers will include Elena Malysheva, Head of the National Center for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation; Elena Sinitsina, Executive Director of the RVIO (Russian Military Historical Society) Museum of Military History; Ruslan Gagkuev, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Historical Society; and others.

A session titled "Museums in Shaping Patriotic Consciousness and Work in the Modern Information Space" is also scheduled. Speakers will include Italian political scientist, journalist, and publisher Sandro Teti; Italian theater figure Moni Ovadia; Rimma Rum, Director of the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War; and others.
