On September 9, a meeting of the Permanent Committee of the Union State was held in Moscow with the simultaneous inclusion of the Representative Office in Minsk, the correspondent of the portal reports Soyuz.by.

Deputy Head of the Department of Economy and Sectoral Programs of the Standing Committee of the Union State, Oleg Lesnov, delivered a detailed report on the implementation progress of the Supreme State Council Decree of the Union State № 2 dated January 29, 2024."On the Main Directions for Implementing the Provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2024–2026."
As it was emphasized at the meeting, the implementation of the provisions of the Union Treaty is designed to bring closer the positions and regulatory framework of Belarus and Russia in order to develop joint economic potential.
The meeting participants discussed the functioning of the unified energy system, cooperation in the customs, transport and logistics sectors; convergence of positions in tax policy; consumer protection, coordinated policy in the socio-cultural sphere, information support for Union construction, as well as issues of mutual interest to the parties.
"The second part of the meeting of the Standing Committee was dedicated to the events held in Mogilev from September 5 to 7, 2025. The discussion focused on the outcomes of the Union State Youth Forum titled "The Role of Youth in Preserving and Protecting Historical Memory" and the 18th Festival "Youth for the Union State", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The main speaker on this issue was Olga Boronenko, Head of the Department of Social Policy and Information Support. The speaker proposed the creation of a fund to support youth initiatives. There was also a proposal to hold a meeting of the joint working group on the strategy for the development of youth policy in the near future.
