On March 19, the 64th meeting of the Board of the Border Committee of the Union State was held in the Pruzhany district with the participation of Deputy State Secretary of the Union State Ivan Tsetsersky, the State Border Committee of Belarus reported.

The meeting was also attended by the heads of the border agencies of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation – Major General Konstantin Molostov and General of the Army Vladimir Kulishov, members of the board of the Union State Border Committee, as well as heads of departments and experts from the border agencies of Belarus and Russia.
During the meeting, issues related to the situation at the external and internal borders of the Union State were discussed.
First Deputy Director – Head of the Border Service of the FSS of Russia, General of the Army Vladimir Kulishov, in his opening remarks, emphasized that in the Brest region, the lessons of the Great Patriotic War are remembered and the memory of these historical and simultaneously tragic events is faithfully preserved. "Within the Union State, we must always rely on our unity and great heritage, including the achievement of strategic goals related to ensuring the border security of our countries," he emphasized.
In his welcoming address, Major General Konstantin Molostov, Chairman of the State Border Committee of Belarus, noted that the world is rapidly changing, new pockets of instability are emerging, and new challenges and threats are emerging at the borders.
"Our primary focus remains unchanged: ensuring the security and peace of mind of the citizens of Belarus and Russia. We must live up to the memory of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers by demonstrating the same fortitude, vigilance, and loyalty to our oath. Today, we will analyze the situation developing on the external border of the Union State, which remains complex and dynamically evolving, necessitating a prompt response to new challenges and threats," the Chairman of the State Border Committee noted.
The board members discussed the progress of the Union State's border security development program. Work continued on improving the regulatory framework for the operational and service activities of border agencies.
Following the meeting, resolutions of the board of the Union State Border Committee on the issues under consideration were signed.
NOTE: As part of the Union State Program, border outposts of the Brest Border Group were equipped with modern technical equipment, bank fortifications along the Western Bug River continued, and new types of automotive and engineering equipment were delivered. Road reconstruction is underway in the Grodno Border Group.
