Offline stage of Belarus-Russia youth forum due on 11-14 December

The second stage of the 8th edition of the Belarusian-Russian youth forum will be held offline in Belarus on 11-14 December, BelTA learned from Dmitry Voronyuk, First Secretary of the BRSM Central Committee, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.

“The final decision on the dates and program of the second, offline stage of the youth forum was made at the consultations with Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov and Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov to Moscow during the working visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Belarus Education Minister Igor Karpenko,” Dmitry Voronyuk said.

Taking part in the forum will be youth delegations of Belarus and Russia. Each delegation will include up to 25 members –representatives of public associations, government agencies, ministries, and authorities, and partners organizations.

“Pinsk will host the main events of the forum. An open dialogue with representatives of the education ministries will be held on the sidelines of the forum. Some events will be dedicated to social support programs for Belarusian and Russian youth. They will focus on the support for youth leaders and Belarus-Russia cooperation in the development of volunteer movement. The participants will discuss programs on employment of young Belarusians and Russians. The participants will also get familiar with landmarks of Minsk, Pinsk, and the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Nesvizh,” Dmitry Voronyuk noted.

The Belarusian-Russian youth forum has been held since 2013 at the initiative of the BRSM Youth Union and the National Council for Children and Youth Associations of Russia. The first stage of this year's edition took place on 25 September via videoconferencing as part of the 7th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. Its participants discussed approaches to preserving the historical memory of the heroic deed of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War and exchanged experience in this area.
