Negotiations are in progress, Chief Academic Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vasily Gursky told BelTA during a press conference timed to World Aviation and Cosmonautics Day when asked about Belarus’ plans to participate in a program on exploring the Moon together with Russia.

Vasily Gursky said: “Belarusian scientists have indeed secured accomplishments, including in space exploration. Partners from Russia and China are interested in inviting our scientists to participate in various programs.”

The academy’s representative noted that proposals on participation in Russia’s lunar program had been submitted and work on them is in progress. “Negotiations are now underway,” he stressed.
