MPs to discuss Union State budget 2024, new projects

The Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on Economic Policy, Industry and Trade is set to meet in Samara, Russia on 14 November, BelTA learned from the PA press service.

“The MPs of the Parliamentary Assembly are expected to consider issues related to the Union State's draft budget for 2024, new Union State programs and projects, development of a provisional list of priority scientific, technological and innovation programs and projects of the Union State,” the press service said.

The meeting participants will discuss issues of interregional and cross-border cooperation within the Union State. The MPs will be briefed on the implementation of the Union State budget 2023 and on the work done to implement and commercialize the results of scientific and technological programs of the Union State in previous years.

Invited to attend the event are representatives of the Union State Standing Committee, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, ministries and agencies acting as state customers of programs, projects and activities of the Union State. The Samara Oblast authorities will also take part in the discussion of cooperation between Samara Oblast and the Belarusian regions as an effective mechanism for overcoming economic sanctions.

The visit of the Union State MPs to Samara will also include their meeting with the Samara Oblast governor, visits to the region's enterprises.
