Mikhail Mishustin dwelt in detail on the results of the Council of Ministers of the Union State held in Minsk on 1 October. "We reviewed how the tasks set by our Presidents for the development of integration are being fulfilled. We also compared notes on the implementation of joint scientific and technical programmes and transport projects, and on the coordination of efforts in the field of youth support," he said. The head of the Russian Government added that work to expand interaction and launch new practical initiatives to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Belarus and Russia would continue.
Mikhail Mishustin said that during the plenary session of the International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Belarus" he exchanged ideas with colleagues from friendly countries on the development of industrial cooperation.
"This is an important condition for strengthening national economies," Mikhail Mishustin stressed. "We also familiarised ourselves with advanced industrial solutions and technologies created, among other things, thanks to the joint efforts of our engineers and innovators, and technologists."
A meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was also held in Minsk. "We had substantive discussions on further steps to develop key sectors of our economies, updated the list of priority integration projects, in particular in the transport and logistics complex, and agreed to accelerate the introduction of electronic document flow at seaports to increase freight volumes. To ensure food security, we approved joint forecasts for the development of the agricultural sector and balances of supply and demand," Mishustin said. He also noted that particular attention was paid to the formation of the union's common electricity market.
"Integration within the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union brings clear benefits to all participants. And of course, we must use all the advantages and opportunities that this format of cooperation offers," Mikhail Mishustin concluded.
