Mishustin: Fostering healthy longevity is a key area of development for the Union State

Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, sent greetings to the participants and guests of the first Union gathering of older citizens, "We Stand for Active Longevity!", which is taking place in Vitebsk from September 23 to 25.

"I welcome the participants and guests of the Union State gathering 'We Stand for Active Longevity.' You have gathered in Vitebsk, a beautiful city in Belarus—a country with which Russia shares friendly, good-neighborly, and allied relations," the message reads.
Mikhail Mishustin noted that hosting such a large-scale event marks an important milestone in cooperation regarding state social policy, which is a key area of the Union State's development. "Today, older generations in Russia and Belarus remain active in the workforce and in mentoring roles, sharing their experience and knowledge with young people. Our task is to continue doing everything possible to ensure their healthy longevity – creating the necessary conditions for them to acquire new knowledge and engage in creative and athletic pursuits," he emphasized.
The Russian Prime Minister expressed confidence that the gathering would provide a unique opportunity for open, substantive dialogue and the exchange of experience, while also showcasing valuable national programs and interesting projects and initiatives designed to improve citizens' quality of life. "I wish the participants productive work, success, and all the best," Mikhail Mishustin concluded.
