The Belarus-Russia Union State is embarking on property inventory, State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev said, BelTA has learned.

“The issue of the Union State property management was raised upon the instruction of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko [at the Supreme State Council meeting in St. Petersburg]. This matter had never been raised so specifically before,” Dmitry Mezentsev said.

He noted that the issue was discussed by the Russian Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo) and the Belarusian State Committee on Property, as well as by the finance ministries of the two countries. “This work is so extensive and profound that we cannot approach it formally,” the state secretary explained.

“We are starting the inventory of all the Union State assets created over 20 years. We will introduce electronic registers and hear out proposals of the ministries (they will be ready in a few months). The proposals will concern projected revenues to the Union budget from using the assets created to implement the Union State programs that are financed from the Union budget,” Dmitry Mezentsev said.
