Dmitry Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State, took part in the scientific and practical conference "Friendship of the Peoples of the Soviet Union as a key factor in the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War," the press service of the Permanent Committee of the Union State reported.
Ramazan Abdulatipov, a Russian statesman, former head of Dagestan, and professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, is one of the organizers of the conference. The event was attended by outstanding political, public and religious figures.

Speaking at the dialogue platform, State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev marked that the proximity of the two states - Belarus and Russia, the unity of their viewpoints, including assessing the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, is beyond doubt.
"If the society is united, the Russian society, if we are allies with Belarus and with other countries of the commonwealth, and we do not have interethnic disputes, it is impossible to fight with us, because it is impossible to win," Dmitry Mezentsev emphasized.
He spoke about the activities implemented within the framework of the integration agenda.
"This year we are holding 41 events that we are financing. This is exactly twice as much as it was in 2021. And all of them are dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory," among them the civil-patriotic cadet shift of students of the Union State "For the Honor of the Fatherland", the festival "Youth for the Union State", the Spartakiad of the Union State for children and youth, the Olympiad of schoolchildren of the Union State "Russia and Belarus: historical and spiritual community", - Dmitry Mezentsev listed it.
Two volumes of the historical and educational project "Library of the Union State" were donated to Ramadan Abdulatipov: "Defending the Fatherland: About the exploits of the Brest, Vitebsk, Minsk, Mogilev and Polotsk infantry regiments in the Patriotic War of 1812" and "There is no statute of limitations ... crimes of fascism against the peoples of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."
Summing up the results of the event, the participants of the scientific and practical conference "Friendship of the nations of the Soviet Union as a key factor in the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War" expressed confidence that the friendship of peoples, tested for strength during the Great Patriotic War, remains today.
