‘The success of the election is in the dynamic development of Belarus, consistent, progressive, and in the response of millions of Belarusians who show respect for the policy that has been pursued in the republic for many years,’ said State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, commenting live on the Russia-24 TV channel on the progress of the campaign for the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus.

‘Belarus is approaching the elections calmly, in a working environment. The policy that for many years has made Belarus a reliable partner of Russia, a steadily developing state, a partner that offers its citizens a confident, harmonious, successful social standard of living, allows not to be afraid of any threats from the opposition and protests,’ said the Secretary of State.
He expressed confidence that the electoral process in Belarus will be legitimate, open and honest.
‘All polling stations are equipped with video cameras, law enforcement agencies will ensure unconditional compliance with the requirements of the law, including the electoral legislation of Belarus. However, the success of the election is in the dynamic development of Belarus, consistent, progressive, and in the response of millions of Belarusians, who show respect for the policy that has been pursued in the republic for many years,’ said Dmitry Mezentsev. - In Belarus, the priority is always the man of labour, motivation to work, respect for those who work, respect for large families, the institution of the family, support for the common values of Belarusians and Russians. Belarus is very skilful and respectful of its history. It presents its small homeland, settlement, town, village very delicately, carefully and correctly to those who come there. These are all the components that are the foundation of success at the elections’.
Talking about the Union integration programmes, the Union State Secretary noted that a target has already been set to implement 310 tasks by January 2027.
‘More than 60 tasks have already been fulfilled, but today the government's responsibilities also include humanitarian components, which was not the case before. A special practice of relations in the field of education, including the creation of the Union State University of High Technologies, in the field of medicine, advanced training, tourism,’ said Dmitry Mezentsev. In addition, work has already begun on the creation of an information tourist centre in Smolensk. ‘This is a proposal of new tourist products, new routes, so that our Union State from Brest to Vladivostok is perceived as a single fatherland,’ he stressed.
Belarus' special attitude to the history of the Great Patriotic War was also noted: the Union State project on the museification and restoration of the Brest Fortress sites has been launched this year.
‘The two national leaders, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, show special respect for the feat of the Soviet people who defeated Nazism. We know the special role of the partisan movement in Belarus. On 22 March last year, Alexander Lukashenko opened a new museum dedicated to the grief and courage of the residents of Khatyn and the entire Belarus, which was not broken under the German boot, withstood and, together with the peoples of the Soviet Union, won that terrible war. If the peoples retain this historical memory, this moral code, can they be humiliated, defeated, broken? But let's talk more about it with young people, so that those people who in their 20-25s will come to manage regions, subjects of the Federation, industrial enterprises, parliaments perceive the Fatherland, its history, moral guidelines as well as representatives of the middle and older generation’, - emphasised Dmitry Mezentsev.
