Mezentsev: supplies of equipment from Belarus help in the development of St. Petersburg's infrastructure

The agreement on cooperation between the governments of Belarus and St. Petersburg is being implemented in full. This was stated at the meeting of State Secretary of the Union State Dzmitry Mezentsev with Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, BelTA was informed by the Standing Committee of the Union State.

“This is in many respects an example for the system of relations between the subjects of the Russian Federation and the regions of the Republic of Belarus,” emphasized Dmitry Mezentsev.
According to him, deliveries of electric buses, buses and road-building machinery of Belarusian production to St. Petersburg contribute to the implementation of extensive plans for the development of the city's infrastructure.
Dmitry Mezentsev also expressed confidence that Alexander Beglov's proposal to invite Belarusian schoolchildren - participants of historical Olympiads to St. Petersburg during school vacations will be warmly welcomed in the Republic of Belarus.
During the conversation Alexander Beglov noted the contribution of the Belarusian side to the construction of the so-called Belarusian Quarter in one of the new districts of St. Petersburg, emphasizing that the quality of work of the builders is really high.
Dmitry Mezentsev reported that the day before, Rector of St. Petersburg State University, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolai Kropachev and Rector of Belarusian State University Andrei Korol had an informative conversation. They discussed the practice of interaction between St. Petersburg State University and higher education institutions of Belarus, as well as the initiative of St. Petersburg University on interaction between the two leading universities of the fraternal countries in terms of improving joint educational programs for Russian and Belarusian students.
“The Governor spoke about how the city together with the Ministry of Culture of Russia is preparing for the X St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures, in which a representative Belarusian delegation is expected to participate,” the Standing Committee added.
