Mezentsev and Volodin discussed the future of economic integration and the preservation of the common memory of the Great Victory

On February 14, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma and Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, met with Dmitry Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State, in the State Duma. The meeting discussed issues of further economic integration, legislative support for the decisions taken, as well as preserving the memory of the joint Victory over fascism during the Great Patriotic War.

Dmitry Mezentsev informed Vyacheslav Volodin about the proposal of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, submitted to the Council of Ministers of the Union State, to allocate 145.7 million rubles for the creation of a memorial complex on Buinichi Field. This memorial, designed to perpetuate the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, is being built on the instructions of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in the Mogilev region.
In addition, the Union's budget for 2025 provides for financing the International Patriotic Forum of the Union State "Great Heritage – a Common Future", which will be held in Volgograd on the eve of the Great Victory Day. The Standing Committee is ready to cooperate with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia to organize this important event.
The practice of interaction with the Parliamentary Assembly was also discussed, and the intention to expand cooperation between the Standing Committee and the commissions of the Parliamentary Assembly was confirmed.
The participation of deputies and senators of Belarus and Russia in the implementation of the tasks of economic integration underlines their interest in working together to implement the programs and projects of the Union State.
