Markevich on Union State Youth: We Await Good Initiatives and Will Support Good Endeavors

"The topic of today's section is very important for all of us, because over the 30-year period of building the Union State, very substantial and serious results have been achieved. During this time, more than 80 Union State programs have been implemented with total funding exceeding 65 billion Russian rubles. The social sphere has also been marked by a number of large-scale events," said Anatoly Markevich.

He noted that the further work of building the Union State remains in the focus of the Youth Parliament and young people of Belarus and Russia. "Today we heard how ready our parliamentarians from Belarus and Russia are to share their experience, to create joint groups that will allow us to move forward along the path of implementation and achieving concrete results. Thus, an exchange of views and experience has taken place," noted the Head of the Representative Office of the Standing Committee of the Union State in Minsk.

Anatoly Markevich emphasized that the Standing Committee of the Union State is ready to support the initiatives of young people. "If our young people seriously and thoroughly engage in project activities, we at the Standing Committee of the Union State can consider these initiatives at the budget group, since project activities are marked by substantial allocation of financial resources – up to 500 million Russian rubles. Therefore, we await good initiatives and, of course, we will support all kind and good endeavors," concluded Anatoly Markevich.

BACKGROUND: As part of the XIII Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, a joint meeting of the governing bodies of the Youth Council under the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation was held at School No. 2 in the village of Kopishche.
