The Union State of Belarus and Russia is destined to be at the forefront of processes aimed at overcoming the global security crisis. The statement is part of the congratulatory message sent by Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of Victory Day, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

“In the year of the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War, we are especially acutely aware of the true price of the Victory and the greatness of the feat of soldiers and homefront workers. Their unyielding tenacity and selflessness forever determined the fate of our brotherly nations and all of humanity, and gave future generations the right to freedom and creative labor. The memory of those harsh years is an integral part of the spiritual and historical heritage of Belarus and Russia and serves as a solid foundation for mutual trust and genuine alliance,” the congratulatory message reads.

“That is why I believe that the Union State [of Belarus and Russia] is destined to be at the forefront of processes aimed at overcoming the current global security crisis on the planet,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
